Hi everyone
My son has worked really hard to build good credit and I've been so proud that we started looking at houses for him to buy. Well we just learned that he is a victim of identity theft. Someone opened an Apple Card in his name and defaulted which brought his FICO down to 641
We have frozen his accounts and are having him update all his passwords..we're going to place a fraud alert on his profiles as well. What can we do (if anything) to get his score back to 700s quickly? I'm hoping if we handle this well, we can verify with Goldman Sachs that this is identity theft and they remove this from his credit. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Very sorry to hear that has happened. Definitely check this guide if you haven't already. Once GS stops reporting the account, the scores should immediately recover.
