Impact of dispute verification

Quick question. I disputed an item (lib fines) with Ex, which they unfortunately verified (TU took it off). A couple of days ago, the item showed up as a True Credit alert as a new derogatory item. Has the clock been reset for another 7 years now? I'd thought not, but I'm a bit confused.
Thanks!!!!

Re: Impact of dispute verification

If they did reinsert, they should send a letter to you.  But I think, no matter what, the 7 years starts from the DOLA.

That's the way I have always heard it goes as well.  It's seven years from the date of first occurance. so if you were first late in May or 2001, the derog  comes off on or near May 2008. Non if they re-insert it with a different (newer) date, you would have to fight that because it would be fraud on their part.
