In 3 Minutes Cancelled My EX IdentityWorks Premium Trial Membership

I just cancelled my Experian IdentityWorks Premium trial membership on the phone in a few minutes without having to talk to a live rep. Here is the story.

Last month I enrolled in crediscore.com to get free monthly EX report and FICO 8 score. A few days later, I upgraded that account to Experian IdentityWorks Premium on a 30 days free trial membership offer. This upgraded plan gives you a daily EX report and FICO scores (FICO 8 and a few other FICO auto/mortgage scores) as well as quarterly 3B reports and FICO 8 scores. The regular plan is $24.99 a month; but you get a free 30 days trial which will let you pull your 3B FICO 8 scores immediately.

I called their customer service today to cancel my trial membership fully expecting to wait on the line for at least an hour. First it asked for my SSN for identify verification, and then prompted me through a series of standard questions. The last question was - Press 1 if you want to cancel your membership. I pressed 1, and a few second later I get a message something in the line of "your account has been downgraded to Creditworks Basic and you will not be charged anymore. You confirmation number is xxxx."

In less than 3 minutes, I had my trial membership cancelled. Didn't have to talk to a rep. Logged on to creditscore.com to check the membership status and it shows I am back on CreditWorks Basic plan now (which is the default free monthly EX FICO8 offer you get). And now I see the same upgrade offer to IdentityWorks Premium for $0/30 days. I will go for the upgrade next week to get another set of fresh 3B FICO 8's.
