Increasing credit score/ removing charge off

What are the necessary steps to i need to take to increase my credit score from 560 to some thing high in the next six months and can it be done? My length of credit score is good and also the amount of new credit is good, but the amount of debt is bad and payment history is not good. I settled a couple of my accounts but yet seen no improvements in my credit score.

1 Pay off all debt with DV and PFD letters..
2 keep all CC accounts below 10% utilization
3 never miss a payment
4 aged accounts

Re: civil judgements in New York state

Thank you.

I also have another question about debt. I feel as if  I have being paying the accounts as charge off but no significant in my credit score. I justs pulled my score the other day from all three credit bureaus and I'm not where I should be but that beside the point.

I live in New York State and i have two judgments against me one is to be removed in 2009 and the other 2011. Is there away that i can get these judgements removed from my credit report before they expire. On my reports it shows up as "paid civil judgement" and "satisfied civil judgement". I'm having a difficult time with these judgement. What are the necessary steps to take to get judgements removed if they can be? I have an unpaid civil judgemtn that went on my credit account on 3/27/2007 but I'm not sure exactly what this judgement is for should i write the creditior or should i got to the court house. At this point I'm thinking about hiring an attorney that my job provides because I'm not sure of the legal terms but if it's something i can do on my own I'm will to do it.Smiley Sad

Thanks in advance, for your help

Re: civil judgements in New York state

Hi,
You might want to make 2 separate posts with your different questions.
I'm in the same boat as you- still learning and trying to get my score in the 600's.

Follow what the previous posters said and pay down your debt and "keep all CC accounts below 10% utilization". This is different than paying charge-offs (which is what you said you were doing). Paying off old debt and settling accounts will actually hurt your score temporarily.

As for the judgements - You can call the court house and ask if they have a record of the index# or docket #. You dont want any surprise bnak account freezes or garnishments.
From what I understand, the courts do not report to the CRA's, so you have to dispute them with the creditor if they're inaccurate.
