Inquires

If a collection agency pulled my credit and have now found out that my name was removed a year ago from liability and have dropped they’re case can I have them remove there inquire? Will it make a shore change? I only have two inquires but in back to back months and am looking to buy a house in a month. Thanks

Re: Inquires

Assuming these are hard inqs, if they are more than 12 months old they are not having any affect on your scores.

Re: Inquires

Sorry my message was a little confusing.......the inquiry is only 2 months old, if I have them remove it will it help the score. Thanks!

Question

I thought that whenever I view my credit report online it's only a "soft pull" today I spoke with someone directly from equifax & the rep told me that it's the opposite that every time that I use my fico to veiw my report it's going to be a "hard pull" that wont show up online but only on my EQ report directly from the agency, can someone please shed some light on the situation for me, Thanks

The rep read the wrong cue card.

Law says that when you check your own credit it will not show as an inquiry.

Re: Question

Wow, that CSR was completely incorrect. I just looked at the softs on my EQ report to answer another post, and I can assure you that they are softs. Good Lord, I would have literally hundreds and hundreds of hards on all three CRA's if my own credit pulls were being counted! Smiley Tongue

for the OP, that CA inq might be worth 3 points, if that, unless your scores are already up in the high 700's or something. It's probably not worth the hassle of trying to get it off.
