Inquiries for moving?

Can anyone tell me if the inquiries for apartment and utilities count against you.  I moved in December 2011 and have notice on my TU report that I have 5 inquiries that will remain for two years.  Will they keep me from getting certain credit?  Thanks in advance.

5/13/13 EQ 636 (Myfico), TU 660 lender pull , EX 640 lender pull
Barclay Rewards MC $2300, Cap One $750, Walmart $800, Macys $2000, Lane Bryant $600.

One year after a hard pull the effects are gone. The major effect, anyway, is denial based on too many inquiries.. it may happen, it may not, YMMV. Usually automated approvals have issues and cant distinguish between inquries.. alot of times you can have those overlooked in recon...  If you only have 5 or so, thats not a big deal at all in my opinion..

No apartment complex under the sun is going to know the difference between a hard pull and a soft pull. MAYBEEEEE someone up the chai, but not a leasing agent. They will just tell you what you want to hear, and if they don't know they will say soft because soft sounds less damaging to someone who has no knowledge.  Always always always assume if someone is running your credit it is a hard pull.
