FICO only will factor in inquiries for the past 1 yr. So, ignore all the others. Also, CCCs will often only look at your past 6 months. Also if you did apply for a major loan like a mortgage or car note then all inquiries relating to each of the two are combined score-wise for a period of not 14 days, but 45 days.
For example, if you had 20 inquiries, and 15 of them were for a car, then you really only have 6 counting against you.
Before I really knew about this forum, I appd for every CC I could app for. So, on EQ, I have around 35 inquiries in the past 6-7 months. However, as my score improved, I became more selective and went after some prime TLs. When I was denied, none of them referenced excessive inquiries as an issue. It only mentioned that when my score was lower.
