Inquiries

I applied for credit with a bank. They pulled an inquiry on November 20.  Then when I opened my checking account they ran another inquiry on

Dec 3. will this only count as one in the FICO scoring since it was less than 14 days apart.  It does show on my credit report as two separate inquiries, but for scoring purposes will it count as one.

Also, just to confirm, if the inquiry is over one year old, it does not affect the scoring, correct.  I know it stays on the report for two years.

Thanks.

Actually, they'll count as two separate INQs. Only if it they were mortgage apps, or auto loan apps would they be counted as one. Sorry! But, you're correct in thinking that they'll only impact your score for one year, and will report for a full two years.

Re: Inquiries

EQ- 797

TU- 775

Experian- 736 ( from Mortgage lender)

I applied for a mortgage loan with USAA on December 10, 2009.  I subscribe to Credit monitoring 3 in 1 and Score Watch with EQ.  On 12/11 I got a credit alert that I had inquiries ( CSC Credit Services) show up on TU, EQ and EX.  Then on 12/11 I received 5 more alerts that alerts from CSC again reported on TU.  Then on 12/19 I had another CSC inquiry alert on TU.  This is a total of 6 inquiry alerts for TU for the one time I applied for credit at USAA.  I pulled my TU report on my fico today, and there are two inquiries from CSC on 12/10/09.  Why would there be more than one inquiry and then why would there be 6 alerts for the same inquiry.

Has anybody seen this before?  Any suggestions.

Ray
