Instant Credit Report Updates

You would think that with all the technology these days, companies that report to credit reports, it would update instantly  I would love to see that I made a payment and it is updated right away on my report.  I believe this would be better for everyone involved.  It would create a more accurate up to date credit report.  Just saying..

Re: Instant Credit Report Updates

Makes sense, but what if they made a error on your report? Reported in one day, and then 6 months to get it corrected. LOL

Re: Instant Credit Report Updates

Fot he most part, they are almost instantly reported (when your statement cuts off) but cra's take time to update the information sent to them. In my case, my EX takes about 48 hours to update, right after that comes EQ, and TU can take as long as 2 weeks or even more. Such as my Cap One statement is on the 17th. As soon as the statement cuts off, the balance and thr previous month's payment is sent to the cra's. I will see it updated within a few days with EX and EQ, but it will take sometimes 2 weeks on TU to update.

Re: Instant Credit Report Updates

The CRA's are mostly batched driven from what I have seen.  However, we are moving towards instant reporting.  It takes years for new systems to be developed and tested.
