Re: Interesting convo with BofA

I don't use my credit as a status symbol. I also always try to reward my wallet first. A month ago I opened an Orchard Card because it was all I could get. Wish I would have waited. I am now happy that I do have an Amex CC and charge card, Citi CC, and a CU CC. The Orchard card has a monthly fee and will be closed soon. Unless they drop the fee, but that wont happen. I see nothing wrong with building a relationship with a CU and using their CC, LOC, and instalment loans. Its good for your wallet even if its not "prime" or a good status symbol. The BOA 99/500 Card is a good deal, but not if you can't qualify.

Definitely.  I have a Dillards account and not one PRIME card.

Re: Interesting convo with BofA

Hi Everyone - Just wanted to share my experience. I tried to open an account with BofA about a week ago online - found out within two days that I was denied, received a letter the next day citing ChexSystems as the reason. But the good news is that I wrote a letter to my former Credit Union, asking for reconsideration and to please allow me to open my old account, and they did so. So, a happy ending, but from my experience, Bof A did use ChexSystems.
