Re: Is AMEX necessary for a high credit score?

Yea cause all in all the perks you get with a high end card you'd have to travel a lot to utilize. I'm not into an annual fee unless I can really make the card work for me. I'm thinking about a Starwood Amex but I'd have to really put some money through it to get the points coming to offset the annual fee. Hence my other thread about how to pay your rent on a CC.

Thanks, I do not plan though to have two cards from AMEX though but I understand your point.

You don't have to have more than one AMEX account for it to help, you can keep your BCP card for 20 years untill perhaps you are ready to slow down, and AP for a travel reward charge card and close the first, bamm you now have 2 tradelines showing with 20 years of history. If you aren't at 850 by then you will be after that if the rest of your report is clean.

Cards: Chase Southwest 20k & CSR 17k & CSP 10k & FNBO 30k Oregon Duck 5k, & AMEX BCP 32.5k & Amex Magnet 15k&amg; Hilton Surpass 7.5k & Delta Gold 12k & Zync NPSL, Fidelity AMEX 17k Commerce5.9k & Cash Forward 7.5k & Sams Club MC 20k, Paypal Extras MC 10k, Paypal Credit 7.25k CapOne Venture 15k, QS 2.5k, QS 750, Amazon 10k, Walmart 10k, Citi Simplicity 18k, Discover IT 23k and a nice stack of store cards.
