Is TU more sensitive or do they just update more frequently?

This is a mere curiousity question.  As I am completely terrible with AZEO I often have balances report on more than one card.  Actually PayPal Key is going to help with this a lot as I can direct bills to a single card easily and just change the card on the PayPal side but that is a topic for a different thread.

I signed up for MyFico in August have noticed that my Transunion tends to fluctuate with a 3 point variation every time a balance is paid or reported.  I am not too worried as the difference betwen 808 and 811 isn't going to really impact things but I do find it interesting that Transunion seems more sensitive to the balance changes.

Is this because Transunion is actually more sensitive to these changes or it just updates more frequently?   The balance increases/decreases that have changed the score have been between $169 and $416.  Though it seems to be the total balance across all cards that changes the score, my utilization is 2% of 99,000 in credit.  Only expenses that don't go on a card are rent and natural gas service so the cards so see a fair amount of spend each month.

I have not figured out TU dollar thresholds (which may be profile specific if confirmed it exists) but my profile clearly indicates TU is more sensitive to UTL.  With all bureau's being equal other than 1 old closed acct on EQ and AAoA being well maxed (EQ only 1 month older), I see greater negative responses with the same UTL with TU.

@sxa001: You wrote that it's around 2% of $99,000 limit.

That's close enough to $2000 that it makes me wonder if you are going slightly above and below it when these score changes happen.

On my very sensitive under 2yrs revolving history scorecard, anything in the $35 to $1725 range doesn't affect TU 8 more than 1 single point, and that only happens under 5% aggregate utilization. (EQ/EX 8 are +/- 3pts)

My mortgage scores are sensitive to anything above $1000 - about -5 to -7pts across all 3.

You called it, I think.  The most recent 3 point reduction was when the total balance as reported on TU across cards went from $1,772.00 to $2,062.00.  I am obviously not going to sweat a 3 point variation and will continue to use my cards as intended but as I am diving into this I am looking at trends. I did recently start reviewing @Anonymous's scoring primer, there is a ton of information there and I haven't read it all yet but the information is really good.

@sxa001 You could also be on a threshold for number/percentage of revolvers with the balance. It happens to me quite often as the number reporting with a balance changes.

I gain and lose 3 on TransUnion and 5 on Equifax, but they’re not the same threshold. Experian does not budge.
