Is The Experian Report Updated Live?

hey,

I tried the annual credit report offer from Experian. I have a month to use it. Every time I log in I see the same info from late July (When I started to use it) but it updates the date. However, I wonder if the report is nothing more than a one time snapshot from my first login?

I see a unique (live) date on the report when I log in, but nothing has changed. Maybe it's a co-incidence (Orchard/First Premier and CJ have yet to report from my 7/31 activity).

So, is it live or just a snapshot?

I don't think it updates, but I could be wrong about that.

Do you log in using your report number or a log in name and pw?

Actually, this is one that requires:

Order #, SSN, state, zip and then I hit 3 checkboxes "I agree to..." and that's it. Only for EQ/TU do I use a user/pass and they don't seem to be dynamic.

The reports from ACR don't update. The date may change on TU and EQ, but should be a fixed date with EX along with the same report number.

With TU (Just logged in) It shows the date I first logged in. Only EX shows a live date. But I guess it's just the date of me logging in, and still only a snapshot.

That's right. The free reports are a one-time shot. They just give you access to that one day's report for 30 days (some longer) for multiple reasons. For instance, you may need to print your report a different day than you pulled it up.

Thanks for the confirmation. So, this means I will just register with true credit and monitor it every few days. I appreciate this.

You should not abuse the quirk in the system but there is a way to view an updated report on EX as often as you open it. It does update during the day.
