Is closing my oldest Checking and Saving account bad?

I've had Wells Fargo for over 10 years now, just switched everyting to Chase because thier ATMS are in more convient locations, I wanted a few Chase CCs and the $200 bonus they offered. Wells Fargo has never given me the time of day for their credit products so I'm wondering: Am i harming myself now or in the future by cutting ties with them?

MOD: Feel free to move this wherever it's supposed to be, I wasnt sure Smiley Happy

You are referring to checking/savings accts only?

If so, closing a bank account will only be an issue if you wish to apply for a cr/loan and that bank takes your banking relationship into consideration. Chase does, idk if Wells Fargo cares

Personally, I would send WF a letter explaining that you are closing based on better terms with another banker, including credit cards.

Good business sense on their part might lead them to send you some enticing offers that previously might not have been forthcoming......

Closing your accounts won't have any impact on your FICO score.
