I don't know that future creditors will care (frankly, I doubt that they will), but there's a chance that this account will be coded/ reported as a consumer finance account. If so, there is a point ding --not a big one, but it's there.

I have one, a personal loan from Wells Fargo Financial back when I didn't know any better. It's something like the third or fourth derog on my reports, but it's very low in impact compared to my late payments. I doubt it hits me more than 2-3 points, although this might well vary for others.

If you already have it, try not to let it bug you. If you ever decide to do any similar financing in the future, try to find out how it reports.
