Is it Ok to call OC

I want to know if it would be OK to call the OC on the phone to set up a deal or do I treat them like the CA and contact them only by mail.

Dcross, you can talk to them over the phone to discuss the options, just get the agreement on their letterhead (CYA).

dcross, I did exactly that when I was working to get 3 med collections removed. Negotiated with the OC over the phone, to PFD. Once I got them to agree, I stipulated that I'll pif IF and ONLY if they will provide me an original duplicate of their letter of instructions to the CA to delete the collection from my cr. They agreed.

When I got to the business office, we exchanged the letter and the cashier's check at exactly the same time. 45 days later all 3 were removed.

I do not recommend it, but it worked for me. The general consensus is to only communicate to OC via mail, CMRRR.

It is usually better to call the OC and try to work it out. BUT after getting an agreement you MUST have it in writting!!!  The wording must be correct!!

Never call a CA!!!!!
