Is it right time to DV?

I pulled my CR and although I have not recently gotten any ailing from any of the CA that are reporting on me can I still send DV notices to them? I read alot on here the time to do it is after receiving a written notice.

Re: Is it right time to DV?

Depends.

What is your states SOL for collections, and what is the DOFD or DOLA listed on that CA account?

Is there only one CA account showing across your CBRs?

Re: Is it right time to DV?

As cookie said....know your SOL before doing a dispute or DV to a CA.

A simple disput can cause them to file a lawsuit for a judgment.

simple SOL

The DOFD or DOLA is set by the OC...check your CR for these dates. Many CA will try to reage them.

Always keep hard copies of all CR  FOREVER!

You can send a DV to a CA  at anytime!  The timing is a little different. They may keep reporting up to 30 days and then can not until they answere the DV.

Re: Is it right time to DV?

Well the ones I am referring to about 5 or so are set to drop off in 2009 others around 2014 and 2013 so yes they are within the SOL for the state of ohio on open accts which is 6 years. So am I reading this correctly that I would not DV them until after 6 years from the last activity date?

Re: Is it right time to DV?

A DV can be sent at any time......if you are not past SOL then you need to be ready to pay and you don't have as much bargining powere as they can still file a lawsuit up until the last day of the month  6 years from DOLA.
