Is this a PFD response?

I sent a PFD letter to Fin Corp of America on 3/3 with an offer to pay 100% ($100) for deletion. I got an offer letter back dated 3/8 and it offered a settlement of $60.

At the end of the last paragraph it says:
"By paying the settlement amount, the patient accepts the hospitals settlement offer and agrees that the hospital and the patient release each other from all claims related to the charges for the above referenced account."

Does this mean they will delete or just stop collection procedures???

IMO, it means they'll report a $0 balance(releasing you from the claim you owe related to the account) and would not delete.

Are you dealing with a CA or the OC?

I sent the PFD to the CA and the reply letter came from the CA. Maybe it was just coincidence that they sent this offer but the beginning of the letter starts: " In an effort to assist you in resolving your account..." So it sound like a counter offer.

Should I send a copy of my original PFD letter along with their offer letter back to them?

Thanks for your reply!

Have you DV'd?

I would send a copy of your original letter, their response, and another letter stating that you offered to pay for a deletion of the account from your CR in return. Once you receive a letter specifically stating that the account will be removed, not just updated, you will send payment.

That is just what I will do. I am writing the letter now and will get it out in the mornings mail.

Great advice!
