Is this a violation?

A week ago I had sent a debt validation to a law office here in Nebraska...They had sent me a letter saying I owed them $923...In my debt validation I had stated that all communications should be through mail...Well I got a call from them today...Is it a violation or are they allowed to call even though I said all communication should be through mail?

Re: Is this a violation?

Sounds like a violation to me but I'm not expert. I'm sure someone will be on soon that can give a definite answer.

Re: Is this a violation?

If they signed for the DV....Yes it is a violation!!   write down date time and everything that you remember about the conversation!!!   If you have caller ID  do not delete ot....take a pic of the caller ID showing incomeing phone # with date and time!

Document EVERYTHING that has to do with them, leaving as perfect a paper trail that you can. Do not throw anything away, or delete anything. It's supporting documentation that you may need for future action.

Yes they signed for the DV on the 28th of Jan...I just took a pic of my caller ID....What should I do next?....Wait for their next step..The lady left a msg saying its important that I call her back...Which I'm not going to...So what should I do next?

Re: Is this a violation?

sit and wait for the 30 days!  If you do not get a letter then there is another to send giving them 15 days to answer or delete.

You can also (after 30 days) dispute with CRAs  sending all copies of DV letter  Cert # and paper  copy of GG.  Stating that they can not validates so they can not verify!

Another think if a CA is reporting the DV should have gone to them not the attorney
