I have an issue where 3 medical collections are listed on my Transunion account. I've researched them and they aren't mine. I went and filed a police report, received copies of the bills ( no signatures, no ID, nothing showing its me) and filed a complaint with the FTC.
Transunion investigates it and doesn't do anything. The collection agency reports whatever they report with no proof. I've spoke with Transunion on SEVERAL occasions and each time they tell me something different. You ask to speak to a supervisor and nothing happens. They transfer you to anothe foreigner in the same department!!
Is there anyway to speak to someone higher up within Transunion? Should i just file a lawsuit? This has been going on for 6 months. Any help is appreciated.
Never used it myself but I'd suggest Googling the often suggested whychat's HIPAA method for medical items.
File a complaint on TU with the CFPB http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/
It is stated that TU investigates it and does nothing.
That is a bit confusing, as the CRA does not investigate an assertion of identity theft, They check only that the consumer has met the administrative requimrnets of FCRA 605B, including submission of a police report proof of identity, and the required statement/affidavit asserting that the consumer never authorized the account.
Did you submit as a request for blocking from your credit report per FCRA 605B, or did you submit to the CRA asa a dispute?
