Judgement help, report from Equifax does not make sense...

Here is what it says in my Equifax report...

Type: Judgment
Date Filed: 03/2007
Case Number: CV2007XXXXXX
Court Number/Name:
Court Address: COURT HOUSE
XXXXXXX, XX XXXXX-0000

Plaintiff: GMAC LLC
Defendant: XXXXX XXXXX
Amount: $14,150
Status: -
Satisfied Date:
Verified Date:
Comments: Consumer disputes - reinvestigation in progress

I did dispute after it showed up on my report a few days ago (which is strange considering it was a year after it was filed), but there is no status, no verified date, and no satisfied date. We settled this account last July 2007 and the judgment was dismissed/nullified. Any ideas?
Also, in talking to the court clerk, they said they do not "report" things like this to the CRA's, the CRA's have agents that dig through public records and report...just food for thought and something I did not know.

Thanks!

I'm no a pro, but I'd contact the courthouse and ask for the information. Perhaps the court keeps records online too.

I see you are disputing too. I did this for my father-in-law for 3 judgements and two of them were deleted.

Thanks, I went online and did find where they originally filed, but no response when we settled. I just called the courthouse and nothing there...just strange. I am going to call the law office and see what they know. For some reason a consent judgement seems to come to mind, but I remember signing something that said the judgement would be closed...will search through the boxes to find original paperwork...fun, fun, fun.

You MUST wait until you receive notice from the CRA  that the account was verified.......then  MOV the CRA    CMRRR.........they usually send a form letter saying that they verify  this way or that way..........that is not an answer to a MOV          A correct answer would give you the 3rd party reporting name & address.

The clerk is correct most courthouse do NOT report nor do they take calls from the CRAs! They have 3rd parties (companies) that do just what she said.      Because of this the CRA must tell you who it is & how to reach them to answer a MOV!!!

Do not confuse a dispute with a MOV

Re: Judgement help, report from Equifax does not make sense...

Thanks HappyDays, very good info...I will wait and see what Equifax says...My wife disputed the Experian info (same as mine) and they came back within four days with the results...so we may move on that one first and wait and see what Equifax does.

This repo is surely the gift that keeps on giving...it is being reported differently (and mostly wrong) by all three CRA's and then this shows up a year later (actually three years after the vehicle was repo'd)...just unbelievable.
