Judgement question

I went online and checked my credit report and found out I have a judgement reported from September 6, 2006 that I paid to the creditor in September of 2006.  They sent me a letter stating they dropped the judgement.  I contacted transunion and experian and disputed the judgement.  Will having this judgement deleted have a big impact on raising my credit score?

Re: Judgement question

Hard to say for sure. We need some more info. Do you know what your FICO scores are now? Do you have any other bad stuff on your reports? Credit Cards? How much of your available credit are you using on each card?

Re: Judgement question

Equifax score is 635, judgement not on this report.  Experian score 507, judgement is on experian and transunion.  One credit card in collections.

My guess is you would see a big improvement in your scores if the judgment is deleted. Collections and public records less than two years old can and usually do tank scores.

Re: Judgement question

my suggestion to you is to get some information from the company that put this judgement on your credit stating that this account was paid in full and that the judgment was dropped against you.  I went online and pulled up the judgment that was against me where it showed on the documentation that it had been dropped and I faxed it to the credit bureaus with my documentation.  It was deleted and yes my score did go up.
