I guess I should start a new thread on this. In late 2003 I Got served on a Dentist bill for about $300. A couple of days before the court date I went to the dentist's office and paid the account off in full. I contacted the attorney that was handling the case and she told me that that wasn't good enough and she wanted another $160 for fees. It was right before Christmas and she agreed to give me a couple of months to pay it and long story short I forgot about it. Next thing I know I got a letter saying I had a judgment. I had completely forgotten about the whole thing until about a week ago I got interested in possibly getting a HELOC which ultimately led me to this message board. As for the judgment, the loan guy told me it could negatively affect me event to pay the judgment so now I'm not sure what to do. Should I dispute it? Pay it? Try for PFD? Is that even possible with a judgment?
