Larger NFCU SL? Which card?

So, here are your two choices:

NFCU Visa Signature Flagship- AF-$49

NFCU More Rewards Amex- No AF

Which of these two generally has a higher SL?  Datapoints are welcome, but also open to ancedotal responses as well.  Just wondering everyone's thoughts.

The Flagship has the highest limits of the NFCU cards.

I doubt if somebody who would be approved for a limit of > $5k would see a difference in what their limit is regardless of what they applied for

the more rewards goes up to $50k max, the flagship goes up to $80k max

if you are approved for the flagship, it's a minimum of $5k, the more rewards minimum is $500

Since it's NFCU we're talking about, it's probably a wash given their propensity to grant CLIs and large CLs.   But as mentioned if you need a limit north of $50K you'll likely have to go with the Flagship.

Re: Larger NFCU SL? Which card?

As far as initial credit lines, I dont think there is a difference.  As the other poster stated, if you are looking at the larger total limits, the Flagship is 80k, and all others are 50k.

Re: Larger NFCU SL? Which card?

I have both with decent limits.  There is a hard starting max limit of $25k for their cards unless you provide income verification documentation.  I reached this limit when I opened the AMEX More Rewards card. I have a $9k limit with my Flagship card because I have reached the max they are willing to extend to me for now.  If you are expecting more than $25k, I would suggest going into a branch and bringing paycheck stubs and tax returns so they can have it on file before you apply.

I'll add here that I've been CLI'd over $25K CLs with NFCU and have never been asked for documentation.   This wasn't my starting limit but rather I've gotten there over the course of several successive CLIs.

I was surprised when I got the $25k starting credit limit on my More Rewards and then was denied my CLI for my Flagship which I requested soon after opening the More Rewards (I should have done it the other way around).  It was when I called to ask about more details about the CLI denial that I learned that they have the hard starting limit of $25k without a proof of income when opening a new card with them.

My first card with them was the Flagship and I got a $30k SL. Opened online and approved immediately no verification asked for.

My second card 3 months later was the More Rewards with a $25k SL. Also opened online and no verification asked for. I right after that approval went and asked for a $8k cli on the Flagship and it was granted immediately. Same 3 months later for the More Rewards. Asked for $8k cli to $33k and it was granted immediately.
