Hi everyone, today I took a look at my credit report and I see Affirm hit me with a 30 day late payment back in June. Here are the details:
I paid off the loan on June and I just spoke to an Affirm representative and was told that I was reported to Experian for the month of April being late.
1st payment due date: March 2nd (I paid it on March 30th - 28 days after the due date; NOT reaching the 30-day late payment mark)
2nd payment due date: April 2nd (I paid this on April 30th - 28 days after the due date; NOT reaching the 30-day late payment mark
- on their end, however, it says May 1st, but I have a screenshot stating I made the payment on April 30th. Regardless, even with the payment that they have on their end, May 1st, which would be 29 days after the due date, which DOES NOT reach the 30-day late mark.
3rd payment due date: May 2nd (I paid this June 1st) - exactly 30 days after the due date; NOT reaching the after 30-day late payment mark. The same day, the entire loan was paid off this day.
The Affirm representative also stated that I should email the screenshots of my April payment to their customer care department.
What should I do? Do I fight this and email the screenshot to a customer care representative and ask them to kindly remove it out of courtesy / do I write a good-will letter?
This isn't a matter of goodwill. It's a matter of inaccurate reporting.
I would start by contacting them as suggested with your screen shots and/or other proof and ask them to correct their inaccurate reporting, plain and simple.
If they refuse to correct it, you should dispute it with the CRAs the lates are being reported to, or.. file a complaint with the CFPB which will start a dispute and investigation into the matter.
Welcome to the forum.
I'm literally having the same issue and they have inaccurately reported me 30 days late and they refuse to remove it.
I agree you should dispute with the CRAs
attach the screenshot of your payment and a copy of the statement showing the date of the (28day late) payment posting ,
and the previous statement showing the due date.
they should be able to remove the late payment as inaccurate.
if not screenshot the results of the dispute and send it and the others to the cfpb with your complaint.
a payment is not late in they eyes of the CRAs until it is more than 30days late.
Ok, I will do that! Thanks for your help.
