Latest Ex report shows closed account - but Discover says it's still open!

So today I looked at my latest Experian report (I get daily reports) and I noticed that it showed my Discover card as being closed (says it was terminated). I thought this was odd because I have been using the card responsibly and I did not hear anything about it from Discover, so I called Discover CS and they assured me the account is open and in good standing.

 

My Experian report from yesterday still showed the account as being open. How is this even possible? Did Experian just screw something up? Should I wait a few days and see if it comes back or just file a dispute?

Have you had fraud on the account that required them to issue a new card number?  If not, I'd give it a few days to see if it recovers and if not maybe call Discover and ask them to do a mid-statement update to the credit bureaus since it is not reporting correctly.

I haven't had any fraud. I'll just wait a few days and see what happens.

Why don't you check something other than Experian to see if it's an Experian-only issue?  Do you have WalletHub?  If so, check that, as you get daily TU updates to your report.  If not, sign up.  If the account on TU is showing up as closed, you can be pretty sure that Discover reported it incorrectly if multiple bureaus are showing the same thing.  If the account shows open on TU, it very well could be an Experian-related issue.
