Length of Credit History varies...

I have a question on the differences in length of credit history between EQ and TU. The only diffence in the two cr's are a few closed accounts that affect my timing:

My TU score is 728 and the length is 18 Years, 7 Months with my average account age of 7 years

My EQ score is 692 and the length is 11 years with my average account age 5 years, 2 months.

Is there anything i can do update this?  It seems to be a big gap that i would love to close.

(BTW, i have been rebuilding my credit alone for years and just stumbled upon the myfico boards this week....wow...it would have been so much easier with all the great info here!)

No surprise. Either TU is being very friendly to you or EQ dropped a positive tradeline prematurely. I would guess the latter. They removed 3 of my oldest TL's 3 years early. Tough rebuilding a closed TL.

Re: Length of Credit History varies...

I agree with smallfry on this one. EQ is notorious for dropping closed accounts early. I have 31 TL reporting on my TU and only 25 on my EQ report due to EQ dropping closed accounts early. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about this. I would put your two reports side by side and see which accounts are "missing" In your case it should be easy-the oldest one!

Cheers
