Length of Credit History

My credit history indicates a length of over 14 years, however, I did obtain credit long before that.  My question is as follows:  Is the length of history only based upon an 'Open' Account?  What happened to the credit that I previously had, did it just drop off because the accounts were closed?

Re: Length of Credit History

Hello mmkeegan, and welcome to the forums. Please read Credit Scoring 101, if you haven't already.

Closed accounts do factor in to AAoA. They remain for UP TO 10 years beyond the closed date. So, anything that has been closed for over 10 years has by now gone bye-bye.
