Length of credit history..

So was checking CreditKarma and it showed that I only have credit history for the past 9 months?!

Thing is I had a car loan in 2012 and I now I have another loan with another car. So the question is shouldn't I have at least a 5yr credit history?

Re: Length of credit history..

The front-end "summary" page for Credit Karma is wrong when it comes to age-related factors, since it counts only open accounts.  It should also not be used for assessing CC utilization if you have a positive but ultratiny number (Karma will incorrectly round it to 0%) or if you have closed accounts with positive balances.

Karma is a great tool for the reports themselves -- free copies of EQ and TU as often as once per week.

Re: Length of credit history..

Do the TU and EQ reports both list the two auto loans?

What did you use to pull all three reports?

Re: Length of credit history..

Your age of accounts with respect to FICO scoring will amost always exceed what CK fluff software tells you, since CK doesn't take into account all accounts on your credit report... just the open ones.  My actual AAoA is 6-7 years but CK fluff software tells me it's 2 years and that my credit history is short, something that lenders frown upon.

OK.  Just bear in mind that you only get to use ACR once per year.  It's a good idea to reserve that for something really important.  When I asked you if the two auto loans appeared on your EQ and TU reports, I was suggesting that you look at the reports provided by Karma,  You can pull your reports on Karma as often as once a week.
