Less than min payment

Ok, i have been told lots of conflicting thing regarding this matter.
Accts that are currently active....they always show a min payment due. If I dont have that amt and send them lets say $5 or $10 dollars does that still show as a late if I dont pay the min amt they are asking?
Also c/o and collections....if I dont have $$ to PFD can I send them $5 to keep them from trying to sue me? I live in TX if that helps to understand.
I start a new job next month but will be in the hole until then, I can not make min and dont want to have any more 30 day lates on CR if I can help it.

Re: Less than min payment

I do believe that if you do not make a minimum payment it will show as a late.  I would contact the cc company.  You may be able to make a payment arrangement that keeps them from showing as late by post-dating a check or something for after you start working.  Communicating with the CC companies is always smart in these cases.  If you have been a regular and on time customer, they may have programs for stuff like change of job, etc.

Re: Less than min payment

I have a 120 day late on my CR as result of paying less the the minimum payment.  Based on the CCC, they probably wont mark it 30 days late if you pay the rest before the next statment date.

Wells Fargo considers a payment late if you dont pay the minimum due by the next statement date which could be 2 days after the due date.  I have a 30 day late from 2003 because of that.  Other companies go with the calemdar date but I wouldnt test them on this.  I would call and pay the rest as soon as I could.
