Letter from EQ about MyFico Dispute

I just received a "cookie cutter" letter from EQ in response to a dispute letter that I sent from the My Fico generator.  What does this mean - are they no longer accepting these letters from consumers?

I copied this from another poster, but here's what they have to say...(sorry about the cut/paste typos)

There is a brisk business among so called: ' credit repair ' companies that charge from $ 50 to more then $1000 to ' fix your credit file' in many cases, these so called 'credit repair' companies take your money and do little or nothing to improve your credit file. There are no quick or easy cures for a poor credit history .if a credit repair company promises you it can clean up your credit file, remember the following:

1. Your credit history is maintained by private companies called credit reporting agencies that collect information reported to them by banks, mortgage companies, department stores, and other creditors. They also retrieve public record information from courthouses

2. These credit reporting agencies can legally report accurate credit information for seven to ten years as well as some bankruptcy information for ten years.

3. Information cannot be erased from your file by companies advertising 'credit repair '.or anyone else making these types of claims if the information is accurate and meets legal time restrictions for reporting credit information

4 the only information in your credit file that can be changed is information found to be inaccurate.

Fact: you do not need a third party to help you with your credit file. You can contact the credit reporting agency free of charge at the address below.

Huh?  I'm sorry, HeidiBoo, I'm not sure what you're asking.

Are you asking if Equifax are accepting dispute lettters?

I'm just curious to see if Equifax will starting disregarding our letters that we print from MyFico.

Yes!  It's like they think i'm paying someone to do my disputing for me!  It was very odd to me too - that's why I thought I would share...

I'm just concerned they won't accept any of my disputes in the future if I use the MyFico format.

Re: Letter from EQ about MyFico Dispute

I use the myFico letter to generate the basic information but I copy and paste it into Word and edit/modify as appropriate. I usually fax these dispute letters and have never had any issues doing so. I don't like the way the myFico letters look when printed and you can't easily modify them later.
