Locking Experian?

I still have a few new accounts that have never posted to Experian, if I placed a lock on them would those accounts still eventually post, it really appears to me that out of the 3 bureaus Experian holds off on listing accounts to hold your score down so they can keep you in a certain category for listing cards available to you, I’m sure the profit margins are different

Re: Locking Experian?

Locking a bureau won't stop accounts from being posted to them, it only limits hard pull inquiries. Accounts that already exist or go to collections can still report to it.

Experian also doesn't hold off reporting accounts to keep your score down so they can limit card recommendations to you, why would they do that and what would they have to gain? Their recommendation list is just like any other recommendations from any other sites, it's just advertising designed to get you to apply, the more you apply through their site, the more they make from lenders. Not to mention reporting new accounts usually drops your score by lowering your AAoA and resetting AoYA.

Have you called card issuers to confirm they have been reporting to Experian? Not all lenders report to all 3 CRAs.

Is there any inaccurate info on your report such as name misspelling, wrong middle/last name, prefixes and suffixes, addresses?

There must be reasons why they're not showing up on Experian but I can assure you it's not for the reason you cited. I did a little research and have seen others with Sears AU not reporting to Experian but doesn't seem to be wide spread. I would get back on the phone with Citi, Navy, Experian and get to the bottom of it, something must be off.

Re: Locking Experian?

Op there has to be a reason the accounts on reporting on Experian. As suggested already, you would need to go through each account and contact the lenders to find out what is going on. As for Experian, I am not an expert, but I would think that if they did not report accounts within a certain timeframe as a common practice, they would have legal issues to deal with. It wouldn't benefit them to do that.
