Look at what I found on the CA's website?

AUTOMATIC NUMBER IDENTIFICATION.
We utilize Automatic Number Identification or ANI technology when we skip trace any debtor. This technology allows us to retrieve the telephone number of any person who calls. By using this valuable feature, we are able to locate phone numbers and assets that were never attainable prior to the existence of this technology.

how horrible is that?

Maybe it won't work if you block you number from displaying caller ID.

Because CAs can not in any way be trusted, I never call or talk to them! I only contact them CMRRR

Re: Look at what I found on the CA's website?

I know, this is ridiculous. Caller ID blocking doesn't even work. I blocked my number when calling a long time ago and they still had my number. This is why my husband and I do not have voice mail at home. We do on our cell phones. If we don't recognize the number we don't answer. Anyone who needs to get in contact with us can call our cell phone numbers. I always contact then CA via mail CMRRR.

Re: Look at what I found on the CA's website?

I always use my cell phone and never block the number, if they call me I ask one of two things, Do NOT CONTACT ME BY PHONE, do you understand? or I ask them to call me later, and I do not discuss my debt any further then the information that I want, however I like to talk to them indepth about problems with my love life that may be fictional, or problems with my health I may not have... what ever it takes to eat up their time that they might be able to bother someone else ... the real issue is the way they make mention of assets kind of like the CIA would use the word, use people around you that you know to pressure you that I called. It is horrable they would do that, however if they only have my number they should not call them back.

It would be a great trick if you happen to have access to a switch or PBX, call them from a phone off of the switch but you can program in your ANI to be whatever you like, make it a 900 number, that would be great.

Re: Look at what I found on the CA's website?

It has to do with you calling an 800/toll free number. ANI works on those even if you caller id block. If you call their non-toll free number, caller id block will work.
