MBNA...is it possible? Has it been done before?

Okay...here's the deal. I was looking through some old files (actually to find my mom's old CR) and I found all of mine, dating back to 2002!

I had an MBNA MC that was paid perfectly. Apparently, I closed it in February 2003 (dumb, dumb, dumb), but I had just gotten a CL of $25M from my CU, so I figured I didn't need that $6M CL (I only wish I knew then what I know now). At any rate, I last noticed it on my CRs in March/2004 I didn't pull credit again until May 2007, so I don't know what the heck happened in between time. At some point it fell off my credit reports. When did MBNA merge with whomever they did?

My question is as follows: has anyone ever had any experience/luck/good fortune to have a good TL re-entered. It just went away one day.

Any help/advice/suggestions are certainly welcome.

I have been try to get a mortgage re-inserted on EQ for 6 months-

I know the company sent refreshes as EX and TU updated the date-

and they sent me a letter confirming they had done so-

Can it be done? Maybe......

BoA took them over but FIA is also involved.  It's really hard to get a card back on... and this might be harder because they might not have your records being that it was PIF. But... if they can find them, I think you'd have an easier time than most getting it to re-report since it should have remained for quite a few more years.

I have my account number, it's on the CRs. I suppose I should start by calling CS? Write to someone? Ideas? I could fax them a copy of my old CRs. I could use the aged TL (eight years old).

I would start calling both to see if your info is available before taking it to a supervisor via e-mail.

Sorry no I do not have one offhand.  There may be one on the boards if you search... or maybe someone will come along with one.  If you can't make progress you can try planetfeedback.com.  All companies that participate there have the issues handled by higher ups.  Please use it as a last resort and not the first option to prevent overload.  If we all used it for everything, no one would get special attention when needed.

Customer service should be 24 hours though at the links in my above post... can't hurt to call them now and see if one or the other can at least find the account.

:I just called BoA and they can't find anything by CC# or SSN. FIA is not 24 hrs (gets transferred back to BoA). I have a number for them that I will call in the morning. The second CSR suggested that I dispute with all three CRAs (yeah right). It's not the CRAs fault that they all got deleted. It's something to do with the merger. I have another five years of good reporting coming from MBNA and I need it.

Oh that stinks, sorry.  Regarding FIA, fused knows more about how they work in this situation.  Being that you got xferred to BoA I am not very hopeful.

It will not hurt to dispute and I would get one mailed in.  Keep it simple and include CBR copies highlighting of the account info... black out anything else for security reasons.  Just say 'this report fails to list this account which was not due to be removed any earlier than February 2013. Please re-report this account.  Send it CMRRR.

Actually 2013. I closed it 2/2003 never late. I will do it. I don't know how many points it will be worth, but I will take every point I can get, especially from TU.
