I have a Credit card company  that is still on my credit report and the SOL had expired 2 years ago. I have disputed it with the CRA and all but equifax have removed it and sent a Cert. letter to the company but they keep sending me back a letter asking me to send in info to Dispute my claim....i thought they have to prove the info not me. Where should I go from here????

Re: MCM

the SOL has nothing to do with how long the account stays on your credit report, it has to do with how long they have to sue you.  has the account been on your credit report longer than the correct time period?  usually it's 7 years.

Re: MCM

then you should be able to dispute as obsolete.  i'm not sure why they would not take it off if your records are correct.

Re: MCM

The  DOFD was in Feb 2000 EX and TU have removed it but EQ will not remove it, say info is correct. the company sent me a letter and it says " It would be helpful to have a copy of any documentation you may have that supports your dispute" also says "your credit report will not be updated if the federal reporting period has expired"
