Got a bit of a conflict with TU report here versus from the TU website. In a nutshell:
Had a HSBC card taken over by Capitol 1. AF came up, called in, requested either the AF be waived, or substantial CLI to justify AF. Cap1 would do neither, so I requested the account be closed and the $59AF be deleted, since I was closing before the due date. Cap1 agreed, their website shows account closed/zero balance. This was all back in late September.
Have pulled TU from MYFICO a couple times since, the balance of $59 is still showing here (as of today's newest pull). I disputed the $59 via TU website earlier this month, their report resolution shows zero balance and account closed by consumer. Neither showing at the MYFICO TU pull.
Any idea as to what's going on here at MYFICO TU? I realise it's a different model here, but should not the reporting remain the same? If it's showing zero balance/closed by consumer at TU's own site, should that not also be reflected here? It's affecting my score a bit here, in that the balance is showing as $59, and has since October, when in fact that's not correct.
Any ideas as to how to correct here? I double checked the TU dispute resolution that I have access to, it's showing as I stated, zero balance/closed by consumer?
Suggestions??
I'd check the obvious and make sure the report from here has today's date. I've made the mistake in the past by looking at older reports and getting everything mixed up.
If indeed the $59 shows, then I'd try with a free service like CreditKarma to see if you can duplicate the balance there.
MyFICO pulls the report data directly from the CRA. It can't pull past data. So, if your new FICO report shows a $59 balance then TU is reporting that.
I checked my TU report again, the report that I had previously checked, it was showing the $59/paid as agreed statement. Checked CK, it's showing a zero balance for Cap1.
But now a different oddity, with TU and CreditKarma. Received a drop in score at CK for a new account (Chase Bank USA NA with a balance of $32) that supposedly reported on 12/31/2012, but when I expanded the CK entry, it was from JUNE 2012!!! This was an account balance that I had in June for my CSP account, but got this alert 2 days ago!
This was very weird, since I knew that I had no new accounts that should be reporting, especially with Chase. Initially thought that, perhaps my JP Morgan account was somehow reporting (I know, it's a hidden TL!) but that balance also didn't make sense with JPM either. I checked my Chase accounts, nothing found, and called Chase, just to make sure that nothing was opened. With credit, one CANNOT be too careful!
IMO, ignore the alerts from CK. They can be squirelly as you can see. I got an alert for a new inquiry that was over a year old. Definitely not reliable.
