Medical Bill Question

Hi all - I have a medical bill for $110 in collection. The doctor retired and closed the practice. I'd like to send a PFD but the only info on the collection is "BUR ACCT MGM" (bureau of account management?) I don't see anything about a CA on my CR.
 
I guess my question is, if the doctor is out of business, would I be better of disputing it all together? I wouldn't know who to mail the letters to!! Each of the reporting agencies?

Using HIPAA is not a credit repair tactic.  HIPAA is covered under the US Dept. of Human Services....There is a process to follow when paying overdue and/or disputed medical bills, even after going to a CA.  Using HIPAA can avoid and/or remove CA listings on CR's.  This had nothing to do with avoiding payment of valid medical bills, but everything to do with laws and procedures that help consumers prevent their credit reports from being trashed due to valid medical bills.  Feel free to delete this portion of my message if it's out of line.

Please can I get help?  How do you know who you owe on your report?  I have 3:  188YC00000;  and 2 for 606YC00000. Who are they?  How do I pay when I don't know who they are for?  Called Equifax and that just says to request another credit report.  How do you get a person to talk to to find out who these are?

Your reports are from a 3rd party and many times they mask information.  You can get a free report from each CRA each year at https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp

 

These are directly from the CRAs and are more detailed and do not mask information.
