Medical Collections.....Need advice

I have three medical bills from a car accident that my insurance company failed to pay.  I was unaware that they had not been paid, and were turned over to collection agencies.  The insurance company has admitted their error and they will be paid in the near future.

My question is, how do I go about getting these removed from my credit report? Should I wait until they are paid and DV the CA?  I have already disputed these w/the credit bureaus, but they came back as verified.

Once they are paid, they might drop on their own shortly after.  But if not... or if they just update to paid... depending on the original reason code that you disputed you might just want to re-dispute and see what happens before breaking out the DV letters.

You can, however, go right to DV but this is what I would try first to see if I could save a step.

Oh ok, thanks.  I didn't realize I could dispute the same thing more than once.

I'll give it a little time and see what happens.  Thanks for your help!

On the subject of medical collections, is there a HIPPA violation of any sort committed when CRA show your medical bills on CR. Also why does Experian not show them but the other two don't

Have you offered to PFD to the OC? (if the acct. hasn't been sold to the CA).

I've found that PFD to OC has worked for me in getting a collection off my CR.

Good luck to you.

Re: Medical Collections.....Need advice

Here is my question. I sent off my PFD early this month and haven't heard anything. So I contacted the OC to see if I could do the PFD with them. They stated they would only send information that the account was paid but did not say they will delete it. I pressed them to agree with the deletion but they would not budge. What should I do? The CA is still trying to verify the account. Do I just simply wait it out? Please advise

This struck me after I wrote.  Now this is an insurance issue, but OP you might want to call the OC if they are who are getting paid... remind them to have CA info deleted due to the situation.  After they are paid.
