Medical collections - Help for a new comer

Hi I need some help on how to get 2 medical collections removed from my credit report they total under $500 and I can pay the full amount that is due.

Please help me with the steps I should take. Will these items be removed after I pay?

Send the CA a PFD letter. There are PFD letter examples on this forum that can help you as a template. Also read the Credit 101 posting Smiley Happy

Thanks!
What's PFD?
CA = collection agency, right?

Re: Medical collections - Help for a new comer

One more quick question.

What's the difference in doing the HIPPAA letter to the Originial Creditor (Hospital) as opposed to doing the Pay for Delete Letter to the Collection Agency?

Which is better or more successful?

Does it really matter Tuscani?  I thought everyone here was in agreement that the HIPAA was a farce...or at least not effective.  I have a few collections that I can pay, but I don't think the CA will be cooperative.  I had been planning to send the HIPAA letter to these medical offices, but then decided (after reading here)  to send the PFD to the OC instead.  So......?
