Mini rant about Equifax dont mind me

I sent a dispute in through webmail and listed specific account numbers with company name. Naturally that means I want them to dispute EVERY account under that company right? Yeah..no. just the two I listed. It's for a student loan. Nelnet adjusted and removed lates wrongfully applied to my account. Of course Equifax didnt bother updating it so I disputed the lates on two specific accounts. Today I get myfico notification for 15 account updates. They did it with all of them instead of JUST the two. I also have no idea if the lates were even removed yet until myfico updates in 2 weeks.
This did this too with a PFA I have. I have 3 accounts under one company and I dispute one for EE and they do it to all of them and it's not even for an EE...they just "update"... only nothing changes. Thanks Equifax. Glad you got it together.

Re: Mini rant about Equifax dont mind me

buildingafuture you are in the wonderful world of Equifax (incompetence comes to mind). Don't give up ... imagine your self a bull dog and you are going after some one? It took me two years and constantly biting on Equifax to get my report right. Be a pain and forget any niceness you may feel .... it is a waste of time. Go after them Smiley Mad Ultimately they surrendered and corrected the many errors. Now I have to say we can only legally dispute items that are legally incorrect but ... if they don't get it right you can keep chomping on them every thirty days (if my memory serves me right).

Good luck - Equifax is the worst.

There was an issue with my account, and after it all got sorted out, they put extended fraud alerts out.   It took several weeks of letters to everyone to get it removed... and then they put it back.  I had to speak on the phone with TU and EX repeatedly to undo EQs shenanigans (at least those reps were nice).

I had student loans and I wanted them to investigate a DOFD on one (of four) lines, and yup, they went into all four and validated them all as correct and put the "dispute" notification on my report.

Currently, I'm trying to get two addresses deleted from my reports with EQ.   EQ has repeatedly said they would remove the addresses but never does, so I filed a complaint with the CFPB - we'll see how that goes.

It's the one CRA I won't be asking for an EE, because I'm pretty sure it will ALL go sideways with them.

^^^ at least with EQ, not getting an EE isn’t a big deal since they only do it 30 days in advance anyway.

Yup - Not worth the headache for the 30days.

At least I know I'm not alone lol. They truly are a nightmare. We asked for a fraud alert to be removed from my husbands report and they remove it then sent a fraud alert to TU and EX who didnt have one for good reason. Ummmm that defeats the purpose people. Every time we deal with them it's a headache. Smh.

All the negative press I hear about dealing with them makes me think that even though I have an account that enters the EE timeframe with them in June, I may just wait the extra 30 days for it to fall off naturally...

Some people are lucky with EQ and have success with them. It's just not as common as with the other bureaus. You could always try but they may very well screw it all up.
