Re: Mint.com

Just found this on the Mint forums:

----------------------------------------------------------------

http://satisfaction.mint.com/mint/topics/issues_with_gemb_merchant_credit_cards

Update: 5/19/11

It's come to our attention that some merchants whose credit card
accounts are powered by GE Money Bank are informing their customers
that they do not support direct interaction with Mint.com because we
"do not currently meet GE's security standards and protocol".

We'd like to remind Mint users that we maintain bank-level security --
and use the same 128-bit encryption and physical security that banks use.
Our practices are monitored and verified by TRUSTe, VeriSign and
Hackersafe, and supported by RSA Security. You can learn more here:
https://www.mint.com/how-it-works/sec...

We appreciate your trust in us and will continue to work with GE Money
Bank to get the block on our aggregation efforts lifted. In the
meantime, feel free to contact them directly to express your desire to
see your GE Money Bank accounts within Mint

2) Some accounts have intermittent trouble syncing up. I have 2 Ameriprise retirement accounts that are now over a week stale, unable to sync, even though I have verified the login info is still correct. According to mint forums, this is a frequent problem with some brokerages/banks, and you just have to hold your breath until the issue is fixed.

Just an update, after about 9 days of non-syncing, these 2 accounts starting syncing again this morning. So when the problem is on Mint's end, they do try and work it out. However, as I mentioned above, it seems as though there are some merchants who refuse to work with Mint, unfortunately.

Re: Mint.com

Interesting as it allows my PayPal CC backed by GEMB but so far no others that I have and I have many. I will keep working on this but if this is the case with GEMB not supporting Mint or Visa Versa then this program may not be of much use for me since I won't get close to a complete and accurate picture of my accounting. Darn!
