I hope this is an okay question to ask...
I've used Equifax monitoring service to track updates in my CR over the course of a month. It's now updated but I'm wanting to monitor TU about the same way, for a short period of time (3 months or less). The idea is to track some discrepancy updates more often/more quickly than the alerts from the free services or EQ allow.
Is TU's 7-day trial + monthly plan the best way to do it? Are there other viable options that I'm not finding (i.e. upgrades from CK/CS)?
Credit Karma tracks TU updates I think. Their score is a TU FAKO but it is a good way to track major TL updates and inquires.

This is what I do personally. I've found their free monitoring service to be pretty good even without considering the non-existent price.

Best is always subjective so you need to specify exactly what you mean to get suggestions. So far we know you want more than just the weekly updates that CK offers. What about cost? Any other criteria? Have you looked at the CMS thread? It's full of options.

Well, tracking more often than the weekly/monthly that the free services allow, and more like the daily report/score updates included with Equifax's monitoring product (I'd mentioned both of these druthers in my original post).

Yeah, that seems like the right way to go. They update scores weekly I believe, but I haven't seen any midweek updates/activity as I *sometimes* do on other services. .

Get a busier report!
Last update: 05/09/14
Alert: 05/08/14 - Inquiry
Alert: 05/08/14 - Balance Decrease
It doesn't track 1:1 for me, but TU appears to suck for updating tradelines for whatever reason. In general I couldn't care less if I get the monitoring immediately (even the laudable Scorewatch doesn't do that in my experience, there's still a delay albeit less than CK) I just need it for monitoring my report to confirm that things are as I expect.
Funny story I found out that my albatross fell off my report from CK by seeing that the number of public records went from 3 to 2 rather than SW or anything else .

I'm working on a bit of busy and then a nice quiet summer in theory.
I've found in the last month or two that EQ's monitoring didn't report substantial balance changes (i.e. 99% reduction) or new accounts consistently. The accounts showed up on the reports...
And I'm still waiting for the TU updates before doing a mini-AOR. That reduction from 50% util to 13% util makes a difference, I hear. And while my best score is already updated, it's also the one that has the most appearances on my AOR wish list. So while I'm thinking about three cards to replace some old snails-pace cards, three of the six on my wish list are EX. Two are EQ, one is TU, and two seem to have a lot of TU as a second possibility. So better patient and safe than rushed and sorry, in theory.
So oddly enough, neither TU Credit Monitoring nor CK show the updates from end of last week.
CK is eligible for a score update in a couple of days so maybe it will pick up then. But I updated TU Credit Monitoring this afternoon and it's still not there either.
I'm trying to be patient.

TU is anecdotally the slowest bureau to update for tons of people on this forum. Can't say I'm surprised senor.

Yup, probably just that it's the first time I've ever noticed or cared, adding my data point (or datum point I guess).
