Is CreditKarma and Quizzle good sites to monitor your credit profolio? Do they provide a close estimate of your FAKO scores?
There are dozens of sites out there:
IMO, those two aren't good for monitoring changes to your report, and IME, CK was off considerably with their totals and reporting.
FAKO is as FAKO does...because there are a dozen FAKO scores out there and lenders don't touch them. No FAKO is accurate IMO. However, my self-created FAKO gives me 1000 points everytime.
Also please note all Experian products give FAKO scores, I just learned of this and cancelled my experican credit reporting, though it's good to see if you're report is accurate, you will not get your EX FICO, so be aware for the service you pay for.
I'll add that all of TU's products give a FAKO too. EQ does as well, though hidden within their site are 2-3 products that do offer a FICO. ALL FICO scores have the word "FICO" next to it. Lacking the word 'FICO', then it's a FAKO.
Thank you! I went to CK and saw my score was considerably higher than USAA CM; hence, the question! So is it best to go to a FICO website as MyFICO to get a more accurate number to compare among the 3 CRAs?
If you want your FICO score I suggest going to myFICO.com, they can give you eq and tu fico scores, however from experian I have learned from this forum you can only get via 3rd party i.e. you apply for something and the lender lets you know what your experian fico score was. Their is talk on here about a pa credit union bank that also gets the experian fico for you, however I read they do one hard pull before accepting you into their union and giving you the privilege of routine experian fico scores.
IMO, FAKOs are worthless. They are worthless because lenders don't use them. They even say within their T&C that the FAKOs are for "educational purposes only", and that lenders don't use them.
The EQ FICO from here will match 99% of lenders' pulls out there, per mortgages.
The TU FICO from here could match your lenders, as some still use that version, but more than likely your lender will pull a newer TU FICO version called TU04. You cannot buy the TU04 version from anywhere. If you have a Wal-Mart CC, you can get the newest TU FICO version called TU08, though lenders aren't using it. Between TU98 and TU08 (if you have Wally's CC), you can get a general idea of TU04.
The EX FICO that used to be on here matches 99% of lenders' pulls out there, but unfortunately you can't get it from here anymore. You can't buy it from anywhere, though some CUs out there will give it to you as a benefit or service.
Thank you for the breakdown!

If you already have the USAA CM product, it will serve you well with accurate account information and provides alerts for your EX report only. I have the service and really like being able to see all three reports - even if they are FAKO (which I just ignore). Credit Karma is too quirky and slow with updates of information based on your TU report. Just some more food for thought.
Ok Ill keep my USAA CM and look into MyFico in order to obtain my true FICO scores
