Well, NCO called me in February and told me that if I made 9 payments on time that they would rehabilitate my loan, and that if I didn't start making payments, they were going to start garnishing my wages. Obviously it was in my best interes to take the deal. They said that rehabilitating would reverse about $800 in fees and make it "like a new loan". I set up automatic payments and waited. I figured since it came from a CA it was probably bogus, but it was better than garnishment. Last month they sent me a notice telling me that my next payment would be the last in the series and that the fees would be removed, etc...

NCO has never reported this account. I disputed the DUPLICATE reports on my loans from other servicers that were still reporting a balance, but not the original ones in default. This means that this super awesome letter is going to change things ABOVE AND BEYOND the disputes I filed. I'm ecstatic!
