I still get the normal warnings like when the company i now work for ran a crdedit check on me,. I get the normal updates on my score. About 2 months i and my wife decided to switch from our national bank to my companies well established Credit Union. We still have the accounts open at the bank. But i have not received anything about these other accounts being opened in my and my wifes name.We are using these accounts now more then the bank accounts, yet we have not received any "warnings" about these accounts in our name. We opened a standard checking, savings and i did a balance transfer to the new credit card i opened with them, yet no alerts. I assume the credit unions reports like everyone else, did i assume wrong? When should i start making calls about this?
Define "new accounts". Are these CCs, loans? Or are these checking or savings accounts?
If the latter, you wouldn't get any alerts on deposit accounts. You won't get any alerts because these type of accounts only report if you default and report as a charge-off, or get reported from a collection agency or a judgment if sued.
Which service are you using to get alerts? If you are using ScoreWatch, then you should have gotten an alert for adding a new CC, and/or any alert for a balance increase on that CC due to the balance transfer. If what you are looking at is ScoreWatch, and if your subscription is current, then definitely look through your alerts. Also, not every creditor reports to all 3 credit reporting agencies. Some only report to one or two, and some not at all. I would pull your EQ report from somewhere (or free via annualcreditreport) to see if they even report.
the first two are just that, checking and savings. The credit card is a mastercard and i am using scorewatch , double checked my alerts and my last report 3/31/12 did not show anything new, but i think the card had just gotten into my name then and the balance transfer had not occured at that time.
Some Credit Unions don't report to one ore more of the CRA's. Have you checked other reports or called and asked the CU if they report?
I called and checked, they say they do report, but didnt say which one. Its a mastercard and have already made my first payment. I am just in the time frame i ca not order another report without paying for it, but think i can get another "free" report in about 1 month.Ill check that if i dont get a update by then
You can also go to creditkarma and set up a free account. It will show tou what is on your TU report. Do not pay attention to the credit scores there because they are FAKO's, or to any CC advice you see there, because the advice is always bad. Creditkarma is good for a free way to monitor your TU data, since you can update it daily. You will need to explore all the menu areas in order to find the data you need.
