Hello all.
Which of these options is the most accurate credit score?
My fico.
my equifax
experian
transunion
I would think going off the 3 bureau websites those would be the up to date score.
I just want to make sure I see my accurate score not a vantage one.
thx
myFICO gives your Equifax FICO 8 score. Experian gives your Experian FICO 8. I'm not sure what the other two give. While your FICO scores will probably differ from different bureaus, none is more "accurate" than another. It just depends on which bureau(s) a given lender pulls from. Vantage scores are generally derided here as being unimportant, but according to this thread, some lenders do use them so for those lenders Vantage would be the most accurate.
My fico.
Eq Fico 8, free updates monthly
my equifax
Eq Vantage 3, free updates monthly
experian
Ex Fico 8, free updates daily
transunion

Ditto @FlaDude
The most accurate is the one your lender uses. Fico scores seem to dominate. I find both fico8 and fico9 to be used. I have nine cards with 7 banks. 5 of the banks use Fico8 or 9, one, commerce bank, uses tu fico bankcard9 and Capone pulls fico mortgage scores from all three bureaus.
Another issue is age of data. When you get one of your scores, it's not always current. I just checked the commerce app for my score, they give my bankcard9 as 838 As of 5/15/25. They are the worst for currency, only update every three months. If a bank were to pull this score to evaluate me for credit, they would get today's score, which I have no access to.
I don't suppose that helps. Most of us track our fico8 scores, since they are widely used and available. Free sources are,
Eq fico8, myfico free sub,
Ex fico8, experian.com, free sub,
Tu fico8, https://www.capitalone.com/creditwise/quote
The tu and eq sites give vs3 scores.
I don't know about paid services.

A variety of free sites will give you your TU Vantage 3 score, these include Credit Karma, Nerdwallet, Wallethub, probably others. Some of these sites only update monthly but some are weekly or even daily. I've seen a thread here about how often myFICO free score updates, but sometimes it updates more often than monthly.
Why not have a FICO score viewing with each credit card you hold? It's just a soft pull to have access to this information.
And all three credit bureaus? These are free anytime you want to see.
And at least the free version from MyFICO.
And for stuffs and giggles, credit karma.
You will get the overall picture. Maybe disregard the last one though. Visual only.
Thank you all for the info.
Realist please elaborate on the following if you can.

Which site would yall recommend or not recommend that I pay the monthly fee to see all 3 credit bureau scores. Right now I use smartcredit to view my 3 scores. I know all of the bureaus offer it including myfico.
Best.
For FICO 8 and wanting free scores:
Use Experian app. Updates daily $0
Use MyFICO free plan which gives you one agency for $0. That's how I get Equifax but it only updates monthly.
If you have a Chase CC you can sign up for their Chase Credit Journey you get the Experian Vantage Score 3.0 for free.
For TU, if you have a Capital One card you can use their app to get the free TU.
And of course once a year you can use the free credit report online which gives you details scores from each CRA so at least once a year you can check for errors and calibrate between them.
If you want to pay and get them more frequently then sign up for the MyFICO subscription or just do pulls when you need them

Yeah, you're right. I think the score updates in real time when there are changes but the report updates monthly, at least on the free version, which is what I have.
MyFICO (equifax) provides report updates once a month, but provides score updates as they happen.
For Transunion, I just got on board with the Credit Wise product, and do not have any sort of Cap1 product.
Not sure about the free credit report online that provides scores annually. The annual credit report should be available weekly, but I don't believe that they provide scores with the reports.
