Myfico scores

Can Myfico still access new info/scores even if my reports are frozen/locked? Just feel like the app hasnt updated me in a while on anything new.

Re: Myfico scores

Did you lock your reports after obtaining your first 3B report?  Or was one or more of your reports locked prior?

Re: Myfico scores

No at that time I don't think so. Either way my 3b report had updated. But just hasn't changed much since then. Whereas before I got several alerts throughout each week about some changes. Now I haven't gotten any alerts since the 1st. Could it just be coincidence? I feel like not but that's why I'm asking. Becayse I know prequal weren't working for me with my reports frozen also. So idk if its the same concept

Re: Myfico scores

Like I know for a fact my scores are higher now but they haven't updated on Myfico foe some reason. I know via CK(fakos I know) but also various other websites that offer me free fico scores.

Re: Myfico scores

For people on this thread to help you best, they really need a timeline:

On what date did you first pull your myFICO Ultimate report?

When did you pull your last 3B report?  Did the scores change from the previous report?  (Remember that a full 90 days has to elapse before FICO will update the 3B report with new scores/data.)

When did you freeze your credit reports?  Are all three frozen?

When is the last time you got an alert showing a change for each of the three FICO 8 scores?

Assembling this kind of precise timeline will also be helpful if you end up calling MF customer service.  You may also want to try pulling your three FICO 8 scores through the $1 trial at Credit Check Total.  That may give you helpful information.

NOT SURE EXACTLY. BUT WELL OVER 6-7 MONTHS AGO.

When did you pull your last 3B report?  Did the scores change from the previous report?  (Remember that a full 90 days has to elapse before FICO will update the 3B report with new scores/data.)

LAST 3B REPORT WAS AROUND NOVEMBER 1ST. YES SCORES CHANGED FROM PREVIOUS BUT HAVENT SINCE THEN LIKE THEY USUALLY WERE BEFORE I FROZE MY REPORTS.

When did you freeze your credit reports?  Are all three frozen?

HONESTLY NOT SURE OF DATE. BUT YES ALL 3 ARE FROZEN.

When is the last time you got an alert showing a change for each of the three FICO 8 scores?

LAST ALERT WAS NOVEMBER 16TH BUT WAS AN UPDATE ON A DISPUTE IS ALL.

NOT SURE IF JUST COINCIDENTALLY NOT CHANGING OR IF ITS BECAUSE OF MY FROZEN REPORTS IS BASICALLT WHAT IM ASKING. I BELIEVE IT HAS TO DO WITH MY FROZEN REPORTS. BUT I DIDNT KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAD BETTER INSIGHT ON HERE OR HAS RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM? AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER MONTH I WILL UNLOCK MY REPORTS FOR GOOD. SO FAR I HAVE ONLY UNLOCKED THEM FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO CHECK A COUPLE PREQUAL SITES AND LOCKED THEM RIGHT BACK UP. IM TRYING TO DODGE A HARD PULL RIGHT NOW AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORKING AS ITS BEEN 20 PLUS DAYS SINCE I GOT DENIED FOR DISCOVER AND HAVE YET TO GET A HP AS I LOCKED MY REPORTS SECONDS AFTER DENIAL. LOL. IVE NEVER READ ABOUT ANYONE TRYING THAT BUT I FIGURED ITS WORTH A SHOT. AND AM GOING TO SHARE THE KNOWLEDGE AFTER ABOUT ANOTHER MONTH WHEN I KNOW IM IN THE CLEAR. Smiley Wink

Re: Myfico scores

Provided you had already pulled your first ultimate 3b report before freezing your reports the only report that needs to be thawed in order to pull with your quarterly report is experian. After freezing all 3 in September my next monthly report pull worked for all but EX. Called support and they said it's due to the freeze and despite EX being the only agency that they can't pull when frozen they recommend thawing all reports before pulling new reports. Many people have posted the same experience here.

On the other hand alerts & score changes WILL continue to work while frozen. I've gotten tons of alerts across all 3 while frozen, weekly if not daily. A security freeze has no impact on alerts.

You swap around the words freeze/unfreeze and lock/unlock - a legislative security freeze & a "credit lock" are not the same thing despite what the credit bureau selling you the credit lock option might have you believe. Which are you using? Were you issued a pin number for your security freeze or did you signup for Equifax-transunion-experian credit lock accounts?

Based on what you describe doing to avoid a HP I'm assuming you're using credit locks and not a real freeze. This could be part of what's going on wrong, if anything is actually going wrong. As the bureaus make money on their ability to process a HP inquiry on you it might be you triggered something by trying to cheat them on potential income. No one can say since they all refuse to explain the difference between a freeze and a "lock" but you can safely assume whatever they are they're not likely to be things that benefit you. Or it could just be a slow reporting cycle for you. It happens, I get occasional 20-ish day lull in alerts activity due to the reporting & billing cycle of my accounts.

Re: Myfico scores

Wow slightly removed. Thanks for the info. Yes I'm just using simple credit locks on the apps. Had no idea there were true security freezes as you say. And oh ok. Yea ill keep that in mind to unlock experian. Makes sense. And ok. I've never read into this forum to be honest so I've never seen anyone with the same issue. Apparentyl I posted in the wrong forum because it got moved to here. I typically read credit cards, credit card apps, and credit card approvals so I'm gonna check out 5this forum topic now that I found it. But thanks for all the info. I think it's just a slow reporting month for me probably.

Re: Myfico scores

No problem! Sorry for the wall of text - adhd makes me wordy sometimes, but glad you found it useful. For numerous reasons not just including the recent Equifax leak, you really should keep all 4 of your files frozen (innovis being the 4th) with temporary thaws only when you're about to apply. It's a pain sure but less painful than someone opening new accounts for you, and it's easy to temporarily or permanently thaw a frozen account online. Hopefully everything will even out for you report/alert wise, if you continue getting no changes 30+days after you monthly statements cut I'd start contacting your lenders & myFICO to look into it. Good luck
