Myfico vs. Equifax

If any of the moderators or anyone could answer the following question, it would be much appreciated.  I purchased my Equifax score from myfico 2 days ago and I found 2 things on it that were alarming.  I have 2 arrow financial service accounts that are paid down to a zero balance.  On my myfico report, they both show a zero balance, but they say 120+ days past due.  This is incorrect.  Not only are they not 120 days past due, but the payments were never late, EVER.  It took my payment history from NOT GOOD to BAD.  Here is where the weird part comes in.  I called Equifax due to me receiving my free credit report recently.  When I talked to the Customer service Rep. and asked why the 2 Arrow Financial Service accounts were showing 120+ days past due, he looked at my report and said that the Arrow accounts were NOT showing up as late or past due.  He basically said that wherever I paid for this report, they are absolutely 100% incorrect and should not be showing past due.  WTF!!!!   I don't know what to do.  I am upset that I paid good money for incorrect info, but I don't want to dispute this stuff and wake up a sleeping giant if these old charge offs are actually not showing on the real Equifax as late or past due.  Could somebody please enlighten me?

Re: Myfico vs. Equifax

Arrow Financial is scum of the earth, IMHO. This is a collection agency and not a CO. You don't want this on the account at all. Looks like it is reporting in the Accounts section, right? The damage is already there, whether the lates reported or not. Looks like maybe a payment, dispute, etc. lead to the lates being added. Arrow is notorious for adding late payments with each payment being made. And this TL is late, because of the fact that it is a CA.

Send them a GW asking them to remove. You'd want this CA off.

Re: Myfico vs. Equifax

Some CA'S For some reason show in your accounts page on equifax ( collection account 120+days due) Dont waste your time getting eqifax to fix it they wont... Trust me I went as high as the lead supervisor of customer services. Look at your narrative code it should be (G) THATS EQUIFAX NARRATIVE CODE FOR COLLECTIONS... Make sure the account is closed to so it wont update because if the ca updates it fico will show that as a missed payment for that month and it will kill your score.

Recap- Make sure the narrative code is (G)--- Equifax narrative code collections

Make sure its a closed account

You can dispute the narrative code to g and have equifax close it but thats all

Unless you get a GW From CA

Re: Myfico vs. Equifax

Thank You for those that responded.  I appreciate your valued input.  I understand that I don't want this on my report at all, however I at least want what I have coming to me and what I have earned.  ACCURACY.  It should be showing PAID IN FULL with a zero balance.  I worked with these people from the beginning when I first heard from them.  I was not late and I have my B of A checking account statements to prove it.  It makes me wonder if it is an Equifax error though because I got an updated Transunion report and it does not show as late or past due at all on the Transunion.  Also, on Transunion it shows my payment as not good, yet on my Equifax it shows as BAD primarily due to showing past due on Arrow.  When I call a Rep. at Equifax and start to dispute the inaccurate negative mark and then they tell me it is not showing as late at all, what am I to think.  Who is more likely to be incorrect about it?  Myfico or Equifax.  That is the confusing part to me.  I just don't get it.  I did notice though that on Equifax it is showing as open on both of the Arrow accounts.  This is freaking me out not only because of the discrepancy, but I am working with a non-profit first time homebuyer agency in my town and they are likely going to steer me to a manual review for my home purchase and to a person doing a manual review, it is a big deal showing a zero balance and paid in full, as opposed to a zero balance with 120+ days late.  I have not done anything derogatory in the last 3+ years and that means a lot to most manual underwriters.  I don't know what my next step should be.

You do not want that. If they update it your score will DROP!! This is not an OC account. This is a CA! This account was already 120 days late when they first contacted you.

Prior to PIF, did you DV them?

Since paying them, did you have a chance to GW them to ask them to delete?

BTW, each time you sent in a payment, and they updated, your score took a hit. A newly paid CA is worse than an unpaid CA.

Re: Myfico vs. Equifax

When I first set up payment arrangements with Arrow, I didn't really know about this site and I didn't even know what a DV was.  I just set up regular payments though Careone and I very regularly checked my Equifax credit report and score.  I have had Scorewatch for about 2 and a half years and creditwatch for almost 2 years.  I checked many times a month and I saw the balance on my Arrow account go down, but my score never changed for the worse while I was paying Arrow.  In fact, I have increased my FICO score between 90-110

points since I had paid Arrow and a few other people.  I just received my actual Equifax report in the mail today and it does not show 120+ days past due at all.  It does show both Arrow accounts open still with a zero balance though.  It appears that the 120+ days past due showing up on Myfico is a myfico glitch.  There appears  to be no other explanation.  So, do I want to dispute these showing open when they should actually be closed?  Or, do I want them to show open?  I never DV'd this account because it was a legitimate account.  I do believe I asked them to delete and I got laughed at basically.  The one thing I do know is that SEVERAL manual underwriters have told me to pay all legitimate debts down to a zero balance and not have any late payments at all for 2+ years.  Well, I have held up my end of the bargain and have not had any late payments on anything for 3+ years.   I just find it weird that the actual Equifax report is not showing late at all, yet the myfico Equifax report is showing the lates.  Very confusing.
