So my DD has a couple of NFCU cards and gets her monthly EQ9 scores.
A couple of months ago, her score dropped dramatically for no reason... going from 782 to 671. The reason code states "Derogatory public record or collection filed", but checking her weekly Credit Karma EQ reports shows no public records or collections (and there shouldn't be any).
Figuring it was a fluke, she just waited for the next month's EQ9 score to report. It rebounded from the false 671 to 784. The "Derogatory" reason code was removed and "Length of time accounts..." code appeared (which is appropriate). Marked the previous month as a fluke and ignored the situation.
Last week's EQ9 updated, and the "Derogatory" statement reappeared, dropping her score from 784 to 683. Just checked her EQ reports from last week and today, and no mention of a collection or any type of derogatory mark whatsoever.
Anyone else seeing similar issues?
Would sending a secure message to NFCU help with getting this resolved?
I hate the thought of NFCU taking AA or something based on false information they are gathering.
Mods, I had the wrong forum selected. This probably should be in the "Understanding Fico scores". Please move if necessary... sorry about that!
Hmmm. I've never seen that.
...and no. Neither DW nor myself are having that issue.
You could always call NFCU, not sure how much they'll be able to help you.
Not entirely similar but EQ reported my Mortgage as closed when it wasn't and it messed up my score. The bank with the mortgage said they never reported that and I was in good standing. Called EQ and while it was showing on my report, the rep said he couldn't see the same thing I was and that he showed it was reporting as open and current. The following month, it reported again correctly.
There are several threads about EQ reporting errors on here. The issue lies with EQ, not NFCU. You could give them a heads up about the issue since that's their record your quoting but unless something happens, I don't know that would proactively call them. I think you'll need to spend some time on the phone with EQ. Go to Annual Credit Report and pull a real EQ copy and research it.
NFCU very rarely takes AA (at least what I have been reading on this forum)
1) You might try to pull your reports from Annual Credit Report (FREE)
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/index.action
and go over them with a fine tooth comb, just to make sure?.
I would not always trust CK 100% for accurate information!.
2) I would try chat or call to see if you can resolve?.
@Duke_Nukem You know whats so funny my moms EQ 9 for NFCU has not been working for at least a year now. Recently did submit a request to have her name corrected on EQ so hopefully that will help.
So Navy HPs TU for new accts and a SP for additional on the PQ but runs EQ09 and internal score for AR's?
