So I have my LOC since January and decided to request my first increse. I currently have $4500 and always paid on time, just like all my other accounts, but I have a bunch of credit inquires and using over 50% on most of my credit cards since I just bought a house. When I applied I asked for the $15K like I heard to do so I can get the counter, but then I call in and they say "Income Inssufficient For Amount Of Credit Requested". I also get the corresponding letter... Is there any suggesstions on what I do at this point?
Hi , Anca21bi
from what Im hearing your 50% Util on must cards, a bunch of inquires (5,10,13 ?) and you just bought House , How many accounts do you have wih Navy ? whats your fico score ? could be a lot of factors why they denial, your prob at your internal exposure with Navy, don't have much to give a suggestion. only pay down most your cards down under 30%, or maybe apply for there CC. but No until you know your situation regarding, income , score , inquires, sorry I couldnt give better advice little detail to go on.
let us now the breakdown , Fico score, Utili, how many inquires, ext,
Thanks
My Tu score is 612, according the denial letter, my EQ if my lowest, not sure what the FICO score is now. I only have my checking/savings and the LOC with NFCU. I had an offer to apply for their credit card and when I did, I was denied. I tried an auto loan, and was denied as well. I have probably close to 20 inquires which doesn't help. I have about 15 retail/credit cards, all that I pay on time most have a balance.
The only reason NFCU gave for denial is "INCOME INSUFFICIENT FOR AMOUNT OF CREDIT REQUESTED" and I did not receive a counter offer. When I called in the, customer service rep seemed to say something like I should apply with a lower amount with an appeal. I'm not sure I want to, I've been denied more by NFCU than approved.
